Utility Allowance Program

How it works

  • Homes are grouped into “Like-Type Groups” (LTGs) based on factors such as square footage, number of floors, and age of the home.
  • A monthly utility allowance is calculated for each LTG using the average consumption of all homes in the group.
  • Residents who use less than the allowance receive a credit. Those who use more are billed for the difference.
  • Each month, residents receive a utility statement showing a credit, balance due, or no charge.

Why it matters

  • Save money: Use less than your allowance and earn a monthly rebate.
  • Fair for everyone: Homes are compared to similar homes in your community.
  • Strengthen our community: Dollars saved go back into housing and quality-of-life programs.

How to read your bill

We commit to the changes needed to achieve a culture of caring, and continually look at opportunities to further develop our teams to ensure we are successful and provide a nurturing environment where our teams feel empowered to help the resident, the community and business at-large.

Electrical Vehicle Charging Guidelines

We aim to provide more than a home for our families. Through events, communication and physical interactions, our goal is to create connections and foster a sense of belonging that makes our houses feel like home.

Anything else?

By living with us, we aim to provide more than a home. Our communities provide our residents with the valued benefits they deserve through the many services we provide from 24/7 maintenance and lawn care to resident events and programs for all ages.

FAQs

What is the Air Force Utility Allowance Program?

The Air Force Utility Allowance Program (UA Program) was developed in 1998 by the Department of Defense (DoD) to implement conservation initiatives to reduce the DoD’s dependence on foreign oil and other fossil fuels.

How does the Air Force UA Program work?

Residents are responsible for managing their energy consumption. The program allows military housing providers to bill or rebate service members based on their usage compared to averages from their Like Type Group (LTG).

How does billing work?

Your utility payment may vary based on usage compared to your LTG. Each month, a Monthly Usage Baseline is established. If your usage is below the baseline, you'll receive a credit; if above, you'll only pay for the excess.
